I have for 3 years used a HD-videocamera Sony HDR HC5. I saw in Japan that a new Lumix FX700 -still camera with full HD -AVCHD is available. Do you believe this camera has the same picture-quality as a 3 year old HDV-videocamera.
I am getting tired of carrying around a rather heavy videocamera and would like to change to a more compact camera. Of course the HD-quality should not be to much deteriorated.

maybe you could hire a child to carry around your 1 pound handycam for you
I'm guessing a 50 pound tripod is out of the question...
