    Hello everyone,

I haven't found anything by searching, either here or on the net, please point me to anything you know I have missed...

    My question:
Is it possible to connect my new PC with HDMI-output (no TV-out) to the USB-input of my DVD-player, thereby enabling me to watch video on the TV, which has only analogue input (S-Video, Composite, SCART).

So far I have learned that there are only rather expensive solutions for converting the purely digital HDMI-signal to any of the above.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. HDMI out, ancient TV via DVD-PLayer USB in - possible?
No. HDMI is raw uncompressed video, no file system or file structure. Players/Tvs that play via USB expect a drive with a file system (eg FAT32) and file structure (eg AVI files).

If your TV can play the type of videos you have you can use an external USB hard drive or flash thumb drive. Connect the drive to your computer, copy files to it, connect the drive to your TV, play the files.

If you have a wired or wireless network you can use a media player like the WDTV Live. Share a folder on your computer, the WDTV can play files from that share. It's also likely to support a much wider array of files than the TV. And it's probably cheaper and better quality than any other solution.

Thanks, a pity... but I feared it would be something like that.
I'll have a look at the device.

EDIT: Had a look around and there are similar devices... I'll probably will get one of those in the near future, thanks for the advice!
