What software or freeware will convert a blu ray disc or blu ray BDMV folder to DVD so that it will play in a regular dvd player? I would like to still be able to use the original blu ray menu on the dvd.

    thanks.

Not a chance. You either go without or create a new one in an authoring program.

No, it's for making smaller sized Blu-Rays from a Blu-Ray source.

If you already have the bluray ripped to your hard drive you can drop the main m2ts into DVD Flick and convert it to dvd.

    Or you could use DVDFab.

  9. You may try commercial software Blueray to DVD .
Not sure about preserving BD Menus.

Yes you can. You need to select mode, then movie only, then alternate movie output. There are several options there for outputting DVD, and ipod / ipad files.

I am starting to dislike VSO products lately, and i have been a big fan of their software for years, because they only seem to fill up half a dvdr when converting even from bluray as i tried it with a bluray rip.
And it's Blu-ray to DVD not Blueray to dvd.

Dvd flick at least fills up a dvdr and it's free.

As manono already stated, not a chance.

And BDRebuilder is kind of a pain as you need a bunch of other software installed to use it where DVD Flick is all you need.

Hehe, but manono also said BD-Rebuilder was only for Blu-Ray to Blu-Ray which apparently isn't true. He's only one-for-two in this thread.

BDRB isn't all that difficult to set up. But it's a little touchy, it's true. You need to use specific versions of the helper programs to be certain it will work correctly. Which isn't to say it *won't* work with untested versions of the tools, but you're on your own. I'm using an untested version of ffdshow because another program wouldn't work with the jdobbs recommended version.

manono is a Matrix Guy (Keanu Reeves(?)), He might be knowing much about movies (action?) but, may be not about BD Videos.

    LOL!!
Yeah i was just gonna ignore that part seeing as someone else already pointed it out

    @ fritzi93

That was basically directed at the OP and i just figured DVD FLick was much more user friendly for a novice as DVD FLick is a simple one program install and does a good job.

  17. You may be right. Anyway, there's more than one way to skin a cat, if you will forgive the metaphor.
