  2. You're asking for a lot. For adding the subs, try Baldrick's Method 2 of his guide:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/277950-How-to-add-new-subtitles-to-an-existing-DVD

For adding a new clickable language to the subtitle menu, it may be more than you're able to do at the moment. Assuming a static subtitle menu, you not only have to edit the extracted BMP to add in the language name (fairly easy), but you also have to edit the underlying subpic and add in the new command (not for the inexperienced). I might suggest just making the Hebrew subs the default ones and then using the subtitle menu (or the remote control) to choose a different subtitle language or turn them off entirely.

    Subtitle menu?
What do you mean? When i will just click play the hebrew subs will be played (because their default) and when i will want to watch other subs i will choose them from the regular subs menu? it will work ?

Why use Method 2 and not 1?

Thank you for your great support

Yes, it's fairly easy to add a command to the DVD using PGCEdit to make one of the languages the default one that starts when the movie is played. Doing that is a heck of a lot easier than modifying the menu subpic and menu commands. Just make sure the new Hebrew subs are the last ones added so you don't mess up the order in the subtitle menu. Here's a guide to making the Hebrew subtitles the default:

I don't use either method, but the way I do it is closer to the method 2 than 1.

  6. The earlier link is Baldrick's guide to adding subtitles to a DVD. That second link is to make them play by default when starting the movie. 2 different guides for 2 different things.

  7. Oh. Iv'e got it. When i will choose english one it will know automatically to disable hebrew subtitles? are you sure ?

By the way i tried this one but it didn't worked because of IFOEdit. What's the difference between those guides?
    Thanks

Among other things Baldrick's more recent guide doesn't use IFOEdit. That's a good guide, though, and should work if you do everything correctly. Since you didn't say what didn't work though, who's to know where you went wrong.?

Yes it will disable Hebrew when you select English. Yes I am sure.

The easiest thing to do is just add the subtitles via the Baldrick method and leave the menu alone. You can change the subtitles to Hebrew by simply clicking the Subtitles on your remote control (if you play it on a DVD player) or changing the subtitle selection in any software you use to play it on a PC.

  12. Hey,
I have a problem. When i tried to sync in Subtitlecreater he wanted a mpeg2/dvd decoder (k-lite) and i have it already, tried everything.
Anyway, the movie is splitted to 4 files (VOBS), so i took the original srt, spllited where i need to split, to 4 parts and start sync in Subtitle workshop. The thing is that there is a problem is part 4 vob, the timing doesnt go on, so i can't sync it

In the guide it's says sync according to original VOBS. It would work if i will open VideoFile.m2v + ac3 file + subitlte and then sync it? mure easier if it possible

I don't know as I don't use Subtitle Workshop. Maybe someone else will know. I don't synch that way, but use an audio file to synch using Sub Station Alpha or Aegisub. However, you might try joining your VOBs using Vob2MPEG or VobMerge and see if it'll open the entire movie to make your synching easier.

  14. Damm, iv'e tried everything!
I can't open sepertly the vob+ac3 in Subtitle workshop.
    Your software will work maybe?

I think maybe to convert it to avi without quality lost (possible i guess), and then sync, convert again to dvd Using ConverttoDVD (Vso)...

  15. I looked here
    http://elliottback.com/wp/how-to-rip-a-dvd-a-tutorial/

If i don't want to have quality lost, i should choose target quality (in precentage): 100/100 ?

  16. You'd be encoding to XviD or DivX AVI so there's always quality lost. You can do that to help synch, but can't you use the M2V and the AC3 when you make the DVD afterwards?

  17. I have 2 options
1 is to try to merge the Vobs, and then i would be able to sync, in Subitlte workshop

Second option is to convery to XVID (better then divx) and choose 100/100 so there wouldnt be quality lost

Edit: Merged vobs with VOBMERGE. opened it and timing has lost. when i open it with vlc i see that the movie ends at 51:18, and at original file its 1 hour and 09 min.

    What to do? \;

There's always quality lost when encoding to a lossy format. Plus, it'll be resized so it'll have to be resized yet again and reencoded for DVD. I suggested making the AVI and then later using the original M2V and AC3 for the DVD, after maing the subs..

  19. That's the thing i don't wanna to quit.
    I have a rip downloaded from the net (already synced),1788 kbs video,audio 48000Hz 192 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0) , Len is 1:37:32.

When i open original dvd it's 1:37:32 Also.
After merging the movie (1:37:32) it became without any Len (0:00:00...)
I don't wanna give up because its very very important movie that i saw, one of my favourites. (:
    Help would be appreciate

Big notice: I think i have a big problem with the dvd decoder that i casuing me problems... How can i slove it?

I used your program VobToMpg and it worked out. When i converted to mpg, there was any quality lost made?

I guess i have few things to do:
    1. Solve decoder problem and then try to sync original via SubitlteCeater.
    2. Rip to Avi, without quality lost, or at least try! (lets say avi will be 3GB)
    3. If VobToMpg doesnt ruin the quality, sync, and thats it.
    4. Sync the mpg and sub and then convert sub, and then use regular guide.

    What do you think?
