My wife's friend divorced a while back. They have one child. She re-married. The ex-husband is a really nice guy and the divorce was pretty much on equal terms (irreconcilable differences).

She has decided to start celebrating Father's Day with the new husband. The ex is still in the picture, still a great dad, and has partial custody. The new husband is all for it, with the attitude of "I'm her father now, right?" The daughter is not too thrilled, to say the least.

Anyone else ever encounter this situation? I've told hem that it is complete bullshit. I can understand if the real dad wasn't in the picture (dead, abandoned, etc), but he's there and a great guy, not a deadbeat. If this new guy wants his own Father's Day, he better start making the babies. Ironically (?), she doesn't want any more kids.

You never know what goes through the twisted mind of a female. Seriously - what is she thinking?

Now she's pissed because she told him that [their daughter] wants to take "her dad" (and mom) to dinner. He comes by with her, thinking that she meant him (real dad), and she says that she wants the daughter dropped off. He told her to **** off with that, since it was his day anyway, and the daughter ratted out the mom that it wasn't her idea to take out "dad".

Now she's crying to everyone who will listen about how the ex is so horrible. She's probably crying about me too, since I said that I agree with the real dad.

It's like these women who get abortions and have birthdays for their "kids".

With that word, I think you're giving undue credit.
