    Will a dish Network DVR work if you don't have Caller ID?

    the caller id function of the dvr wont work if you don't subscribe to the service from your telco.

    I have the Dishnetwork VIP 722, the DVR works just fine with or without caller ID, if you have caller ID thru your Telephone company and you plug the receiver into the phone line, the callers ID will be seen on your TV. Dishnetwork doesn't require you have caller ID, but you will need a phone line or an ethernet line connected for Video on demand, rentals etc.
