    I am thinking of purchasing an Xbox (not 360). It will NOT be modded nor updated. My question is: Will it still play WMV? Be it from DVD-/+RW's or from the hard drive (no streaming).

    I don't know about an original xbox.

    If it does play wmv I'm nearly 100% certain it won't play hd wmv if you're thinking about it for that purpose.

    The xbox 1 maxes at 480p so keep that in mind for any use you may have for it. And you'll need component or vga cables for that purpose.
