I'm looking for subs for this Chilean horror movie, dialogue in Spanish:

    Chilean Gothic
    also known as: Pickman's Model

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0224755/

English, preferably, but even Spanish would be helpful.

I've looked on opensubtitles.org and all the other archives I know.

    during my countless hunts for videos and information i ran into the same problem as you did with that particular film. i couldn't find any subtitles anywhere so i decided to try and download different copies of the film in the hopes that subtitles would come with the film. and by luck, my first download worked and indeed came with english subtitles of all things. i got it from a site for lovecraft inspired films through another site that does video hunts, so, it took awhile to say the least. anyways, here's the link;

on a side note if you don't already know; its rapidshare files and you should use VLC media player to get the subs working best and as a Lovecraft kinda site there are other film listings inspired by HPL though some are quite terrible movies.

i hope this helps, cuz man that was bugging me too and i can't even imagine your irritation and frustration considering how long ago it was that you posted this question.

Whoah -- a treasure trove for HPL fans.
Looks like it was posted after I gave up searching.
Thanks a lot. Can finally watch that film now.

It's quite amazing how many movies are "based" (often very loosely) on HPL stories. Helps that he's out of copyright.

    IMDB list 95 features: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0522454/
    and see http://threatquality.com/2008/10/01/the-cinema-of-h-p-lovecraft-tqp0096/
    and http://www.hplovecraft.com/

A lot of other stuff was obviously inspired by his work, e.g. "Alien".
But as you said, quite a lot is schlocky crap.

It's the same as when he was alive, his influence on other writers was at least as important as the stories he wrote himself. Like RE Howard and Tolkien, he basically embodied a genre.

I'm looking forward to "The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft", based on the comic book "starring" HPL, due out next year. That should be fun, and at least namecheck much of the Cthulhu Mythos.

glad I was able to help and thanx for the links as now I can try to further extend my Lovecraft collection. that first link was especially useful by the way and now back to the quest for Lovecraftian based cinema.

on another side note; in Hellboy 2, director Guillermo del Toro included several cameos of truly accurate looking Elder Things and has plans to film "At The Mountains of Madness" after he's done with the Hobbit, so something to look forward too in like 2014, lol.
