  1. Hi
i've split my mkv-Files (with multiAVCHD) to multiple m2ts-files (4gig for Fat32) to play them on my PS3.
Now i got my new LG-TV which can play mkv-files, but no m2ts-Videos... So i want to repack my movies to mkv (since i didn't have any Backups )

Is there any way to do this quick and easy?

//EDIT: i, of course, meant MERGE m2ts to mkv and not split... sorry

Try mkvtoolnix and see if it can load the m2ts files directly. Or else try tsmuxer to join the m2ts and demux and join all streams with mkvtoolnix.

Or use MakeMKV on your original blu-ray...

But this is not any blu-ray authoring. Moving you to our video conversion secttion.

As I found out today, MKVtoolNix will accept vobs or mpegs as an input but not .ts or .m2ts.

The ts muxer solution will work but only way I have found to do it is to convert the .ts or .m2ts file to a new bluRay or avchd and than use either one of those in MakeMkv to convert back to mkv.

Hmm...if you did a complete AVCHD with multiAVCHD shouldn't MakeMKV work directly then.

  5. OK, i tried BluRip and it seems like it works... (just renamed the mts-files to m2ts)
@Balrick: i don't have any filex except the mts-containers, since i converted them for the PS3 there would be no point in keeping the others...
But thanks anyway, you guys pointed me in the right direction

    Yes,
but I thought your use of tsMuxer would be quicker. Any way thats the way I usually do it. Will try MultiAVCHD next time I have to do it but it sure would be convenient to have a program that would convert .ts .m2ts to MKV.

Would be nice if TSMuxer did it. or if MakeMKV accepted Br streams.

Converting one whole movie in 1080p, 2 ac3-streams and 4 subs takes about 5min, so BluRip is quick enough for my needs

Are you indicating that you just inserted .m2ts streams into Blurip and it accepted them. Seems like Blurip only accepts complete BRs or AVCHD. If so, how did you do it?

  9. multiAVCHD converts the the mkv to AVCHD, so there is no reason why BluRip should not accept them. multiAVCHD just gives them (Because of blueray or whatever) the extension *.MTS, if you rename them to *.m2ts and open them in BluRip via "Open *.m2ts file(s)", it works nicely

    @ Emil007

Thank you for insisting that Blurip would process naked m2ts files and turn them into MKVs. I had previously tried without success. I just never pressed the right sequence of buttons.

But now I did and it works very well. No more need to convert to BR or AVCHD.

  11. But be aware that you need to enter the framerate manually

  12. You can also load your m2ts files in tsMuxeR and use the DEMUX option. You'll get .264 and .ac3 files which you can use with mkvmerge.
