  1. I put a new photo cd (with Jpegs) into my dvd recorder and it came up with 'load' on the screen so I waited .... and waited ... and waited... you get my drift!? Well I then decided to try and eject and it wouldnt, so I tried to turn it off and it wouldnt. The only thing I could do was switch between HD and DVD (which it didnt but the lights did change on the front). All through this nothing is displayed on screen apart from the currently screening channel. Anyway after trying to unplug and plug in again it seems normal with the clock showing the correct time but as soon as you turn it on it just sticks on load and wont let me do anything else. I have tried the pioneer reset which involves holding the on/off and stop button together but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas??

You may have already tried this, but try holding down the open/close button while plugging it in. When you unplug it, leave it unplugged for an hour or two.
If that doesn't do it and it has a manual eject hole on the drive, (Probably doesn't) turn it off and use a paper clip there. I have a 633h, but haven't ran into that problem.

    And welcome to our forums.

This site appears to be offering a free service manual, but I don't know what you need to do to get it:

Have you taken the cover off and had a look inside?

Did the CD have a paper label?

Is the DVD tray motor or sled motor spinning?
