    Ive got a SVCD with macrovision, and I cant record it to VCR, Ive converted to MPG1 but still Cannot record to VCR what am I doing wrong??? Please Help. Ogre

    Buy a $50 video clarifier from bestbuy.
    pass the signal through, and it work for me.

    That's interesting. According to the Digital information Act passed in '98 - any device that decodes,descrambles, or decrypts a signal or device that was not meant to be undone is considered illegal - even if the primary function of the device is not intended for that use. So any device that defeats the macrovision protection is considered illegal and supposedly all those devices had been taken off the shelf and only available through mail order or online( albeit from another country ).

    Not that I'm against such a device : ) - just suprised that it's on a retail shelf for sale.
