I have a DVD (VIDEO_TS set) that has incorrect Language tags for the audio tracks (they should say English, but they don't). I also replaced the main VOBs (with VOBBlanker - successfully) - the only caveat is that now the original Menu Chapter Selections don't work. Is there a way to re-map them to the original points (they will be off a little, as the new video is longer, but that's fine).

    Thanks!

PgcEdit should be able to fix both your problems, however it's not for the faint of heart and I'm no expert at it but:

    For the audio language problem:

Open your VIDEO_TS in PgcEdit, in the left hand section, right click the main movie (it should be the one with the longest duration) and select Domain Streams Attributes. You'll get something similar to the window on the right, shown below.

You should see 2 letters next to the Audio track in question (labelled 1 in the picture above), these represent the language, you can just change whatever it is now to "en" to set it to English. If you click on the ISO639 Language Codes you'll get a list of other languages.

For the chapter buttons read this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/685359 particularly attar's post which I'll quote here for convenience.

There is probably an easier way to do this - but I cannot find the specific guide - if it exists.
    Good luck.

Menu 'Scene Selection' numbers are the same as 'Chapter Numbers' - until new chapters are added. Now the scenes no longer match the chapters.

Open the original DVD files in PGCedit.
Find 'Title 1' in left panel and double click.
It will build a 'Cell table' which pops up.
Each chapter Chap.(PTT) lists a starting entry under 'Entry VOBU sector' for each listed chapter.
Note the chapter number and sector value; OK to main menu and exit..

Open the new DVD with the new added chapters from VOBblanker..
Note the chapter numbers and sectors;OK to main menu.
The sector numbers for the original DVD have been displaced from their original chapter.

Locate VTSM files in the left panel that list buttons, "18b" might be one.
Highlight the file and click the 'Menu' logo on the Toolbar.
If a DVD menu screen appears for 'Scene Selection', highlight an entry and note the 'JumpVTS' entry in the lower panel.

Since the Chapter numbers were changed when the VOBblanker added the new points, the entry will possibly be pointing to the wrong chapter.
The correct chapter is that which has the same sector number as the original.

The value can be edited by clicking on the panel below the menu screen.
When all scene values have been changed, close the screen and find more button entries until all scenes have their new values.
When completed, go to the main menu and save the corrections.
    Test with a media player.

Scene selection should now be correct, while chapter skipping will reflect the additions made by VOBblanker.
Another guide on editing menu buttons with PgcEdit can be found here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/edit_and_delete_dvd_menu_buttons_with_pgcedit.cfm

Ahhh, cool! I knew *someone* would know how to do it. I figured it probably used PgcEdit, but couldn't find the options.

I'll lt you know how successful I am

    Thanks!

Ok, it looks like when I replaced the VOBs it also replaced all the chapter stops (essentially set them all to 0). I have the Entry VOBU Sector for each of the originals - can I just plug them into the new disc? There's only a runtime diff of ~4mins, so I'm not real worried if they're off (I can probably also manually adjust them once I know how to do it). The Language part was easy

    Thanks!

(Basically it seems that all the chapters now just go to the beginning and I don't see where to change them - it's obviously possible in PgcEdit, but I don't see the commands - all the chapter Targets are set to the beginning of the main video)

I've attached a screenshot of the *current* chapters screen (the one that needs adjusting) - hope this helps!

  8. Your cell table (in post #5) is totally wrong. The whole movie is now in cell 1, and the other cells are just dummies of less than one second. Obviously, you did something wrong. It is impossible to fix that issue without redoing the whole process from scratch.

To replace the main movie with VobBlanker, you have to extract it from the original DVD chapter by chapter, and then replace each chapter with VobBlanker independently. You have probably extracted the main movie as a global file, and replaced the original first chapter by the movie.

I don't know why you have replaced the movie, so I can't help much, but if you have replaced it because you have reauthored the movie to change an audio or subpic stream, it is probably easier to do it that way:

    - You should do a copy of the original DVD first, because you will modify it in place!

    - Demux the whole original PGC with PgcDemux. Don't forget to output also the celtimes.txt file.

    - Remux with Muxman, and add (or replace) your new audio or subpic streams. Don't forget to include the celltimes.txt file (use File -> Import Chapters), and verify that the number of chapters displayed at the bottom of the muxman window matches the original number of CELLS (that's not always the same number). In your example, you should have 22 chapters, even if there are only 21 chapters in the original title (because there is no chapter point assigned to the last cell).

    - In PgcEdit, select the main movie of the original DVD, and go to File -> Replace VTST Titles. When prompted if you want to keep data from your original DVD, answer yes.

    - Save and verify. That's all!

Note that the method explained here works only if you have only ONE PGC in the VTST domain containing the main movie. When there are several PGC, you must process them all, and the remux part with muxman is much more complicated. You can use VobBlanker to replace only one PGC, but I can't help, as I prefer the PgcEdit method.

    Good luck!
