Hi,
I need some help here. I have a video stabilizer – I think it’s called SIMA and it works perfectly with my old recorder. I recently bought a new recorder – Magnavox ZV420MW8 , but always get a “copy protected” message when trying to record VHS or DVD to a DVD using a new recorder.
The source players are the same, so it has to be something to do with a Magnavox…
Please advice and thanks for your help.

Hello Alon_o,
There is probably nothing wrong with your new recorder. It’s just a newer version of Macrovision protection that is built within it and your SIMA is probably too old to handle that. As far as I know the company that produced SIMA is no longer exists, so try something else – I personally use DIMAX GREX , btw I had the same problem when changed my recorder, but they exchanged my GREX unit to a new one just for free!!! -
Well, thank you so much! I'm sure this GREX is a great unit, but I did'n have any money to spend this month , so I'll keep using my old recorder for now..
