Is there a better way of putting watermarks on videos than windows movie player or virtualdubmod? I want to preserve the quality of my avi movie and those 2 don't do that. Any easier way of just putting a watermark on videos?

You cannot watermark your video without re-encoding it. I agree that movie maker is not a good solution, but virtualdub can produce quality if configured correctly. You would have to use at least the same settings as the source video, and consider giving it a slightly higher bitrate to preserve the original quality.
