After at least half dozen years of using DVD shrink without any problems I just noticed something new. So It must not have ever done it before.
In ISO mode shrink produces regular ISOs to my internal hard disks. If I write the ISO to my external USB and Esata drives it produces files as listed in the title. I reinstalled shrink and looked for something that might explain the problem but it just seems strange to me. The files are 1gb each and they include a MDS file.
I can copy the ISOs from my internal hard disks to my externals without a problem.
All I could think of was Haali or ffdshow because I had updated them recently. But I don't know what to do about it.

Haali and FFDShow are codecs, and have nothing to do with it. It sounds like some form of file splitting is happening. The only reason I can think of for this to occur is because your external drives are formatted as FAT32, FAT32 cannot take files larger than 4 GB, and so Shrink is splitting the files into to something smaller, based on 1 GB segments.

You're right about them being fat 32 but the ISO was less than 4gb. After I copied it to my internal disk as an ISO I copied it over to my external. The iso file was only 3.7gb.
I looked for a setting like the one for 1 large vob or 1gb vob splits in the shrinks preferences but I couldn't find one for ISOs.
Maybe thats just the way it works when coping to Fats.
After all the years I've been using the program, maybe I just never used it to write an ISO to a fat drive before.
