when u use shrink is the file it creates automatically an "iso" file, or is there some place to change settings to create an iso file. I believe an iso file is different than the group of files i am getting when i use dvdshrink. can anybody clue me into the specifics. i am new to this of course and need your help. thank you very much

An ISO file is a disc image. It's contents are all the folders and files you would get if you just output to a HDD folder. You can select ISO output in the Backup dialogue under Target Device. Is there any benefit other than the neatness of a single file - not any more. Once upon a time DVD Decrypter was the burning application de jour and it could only burn an ISO image. It grew up to become Imgburn, which is a lot smarter and will happily burn from a folder. I don't think I have created an ISO out of Shrink since then.

I use DVDShrink within Ripit4Me to create an ISO file. I then burn that with ImageBurn or convert to Xvid with FairUse Wizard.

Hi! : Almost Human, I am confused. I have ripit4me, nero 8, dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, and imgburn. How can I switch from nero burner to imgburn as a burner. I was told to use imgburn instead of nero.

You can use the VIDEO_TS folder that Shrink created and burn that with ImgBurn or use the ISO. Just set Shrink to output to your hard drive. There were a few methods to use ImgBurn automatically with Shrink but they were apparently withdrawn due to copyright problems.

Hey Gerald Sr. if you mean, how do use IMGburn within Shrink to burn,I believe there used to be a version of Shrink that would allow you to automatically use IMGburn instead of Ner0....Perhaps someone can provide a link..
However you can just backup the file to your HDD and open the resulting VIDEO_TS folder or ISO in IMGBurn and burn it...
EDIT: looks like redwudz has got it covered.... 8)

I don't know about any copyright problems, but there was definitely an OS issue: this alternate version of Shrink relies upon something that is present in XP, but not present in earlier versions of Win. This caused it to always bomb out immediately on my systems, which are still W2K-based. I'll be setting up a new box running XP in the near future, so will have a chance to try this out then.Originally Posted by freebird73717When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.
