  1. I have looked for this problem, but I might not have looked hard enough, if this questions has been answered please direct me to the location.

I have read that many people are having audio sync issues. I to, but my sync is with an avi file. Here's what happens. The avi will be in sync for the first 10 - 15mins then the next 10 -15mins it is off by 0.2 seconds. This happens throughout the movie in sync - out of sync. If it were linear, I could fix this, but it's not linear. Compressing or stretching the audio would not solve the ever so changing sync problems.

This happens throughout the movie, the sync problems in some parts of the movie are ahead, in other parts, behind and in one instance, in the middle of the movie, it is completely in sync for about 15 mins. The sync isn't a gradual change, the audio will be in sync, then the next frame you can tell the audio is out of sync.

You can't here any changes in the audio like "silence/audio" is being inserted or taking away. The audio is flawless (sound quality and clarity).

What is the problem and can this be fixed?

Not easily. What it sounds like is the file has missing frames or is corrupted in some manner in several places. You can split the video into sections and correct the sync in each then reassemble it, but it would be a lot of work.

Most times it's easier just to delete the file and find a better source video.

Sorry, not much help here, but welcome to our forums.
