    Hi.

I will be doing a lot of filming in the snow next year, and I need advice on what camera to buy.
It does not necessarliy need to be 100% water proof or shock resistant - the video quality is first priority.

The camera has to be very good at capturing motion, and preferably also at low-light performance.

I've looked at a few cameras, but I really don't know where I'm going.

The ones I've been looking at are:

    - Sony HDR fx7
    - Panasonic TCM300
    - Canon HF s11

  2. The best camcorders for low-light are sony's 520 and 550 . Raw files can be found here http://www.videoaktiv.de/Table/Testvideos/

I'm going to buy SONY HDR-CX550VE. For me this camcorderr is absolutelly the best so far! Wide angle +
super image stabilization + manual settings + awesome low light performance + SD card slot!. Unfortunatelly it won't be cheap

Well price is not a problem. The fx7 is about 2000$. I won't go higher than that though.

Thank's for the tip, I'll look into them. Hope they are good at filming fast motion.

I'd look at the JVC 720p/59.94 HDV models. These are best for motion and work well in advanced editors.

Best near your price point would be the $3395 GY-HM100U (720p/59.94 for action, 1080p/24 for scenery or artsy). Older models are cheaper used.

I'll most definately buy a GoPro, but in addition to that I need a more camcorder-alike camera with manual functions etc. it's the camcorder I'm having problems choosing.

That really looks nice, with underwater and armor accesories. A bit expensive though, Maybe a used one?

I'm just collecting all the opinions I can get atm. so please fire away!
Thank's for the help so far
