I have a Livetype .ipr file that is set to specific dimentions (width 400, height 60) and I am trying to import it into my SD DVDSP project. I have a drop zone set to the same dimentions. The problem is that as soon as I import the .ipr file into DVDSP, the dimentions of the file default to 720x480. This makes the text all pixelated and distorted. I have a Pro Training Series book for DVDSP that states that the .ipr file should maintain the dimentions set in Livetype, but this is not working for me. Any help would be welcome, I am tearing my hair out here trying to figure this out.

what is the background dimensions in your Livetype file?
You know, the stuff the animated text is resting on?
What happens if you change that canvas to
the exact dimensions of 400 x 60?
DVDSP can pick up alpha backgrounds and set the dimensional
border of the object to that size, rather than the size of
(length) of text.
My guess is that your canvas in Livetype is 720 x 480, that's what
it's picking up."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

No, that's the problem. My canvas is 400x60. When I change the dimentions in Edit > Project Properties the canvas changes to a skinny box that has the exact same dimentions as the Drop Zone I created in DVDSP. The lesson in my book says that once I change the dimentions in Livetype, I should be able to import that file into DVDSP at the same 400x60 dimention, and pop it into my Drop Zone. But as I said, when it's imported into DVDSP, that's when it's changing to 720x480.

OK, how I would go about fixing this is simple.
I would create a custom drop zone that is 400 x 60 and import that into DVD SP first.
Then, I would my save my Livetype moving text as a .mov file with alpha channel ( no background),
import into the Custom Drop Zone, and be done.
Here is a tutorial on creating Custom Drop Zones for DVDSP:
