  1. I demuxed an M2TS file with tsMuxeR and the video file produced was a .264 file. Exact file name: "00006.264"

I can't find any program that will play it let alone convert it. Any helpful ideas?

VLC and The KM Player might play it, however it is just the video stream from the M2TS file. Any reason why you would demux it to play it ?

  3. why demux it?

put it into a container like mkv or mp4 or just leave it in transport stream , because most video players cannot play raw avc streams

  4. I'm trying to convert the M2TS file into a format I can edit in Final Cut Pro. Unfortunately, I think the DTS-HD audio is messing things up when trying to convert it. So I want to separate the files and take care of them individually.

    VLC doesn't work.

@poisondeathray: How can I put it into a container? Any program suggestion? Either Mac or PC is fine.

  5. put it into .mp4 container with mp4muxer or mp4box (yamb is a gui for it)

or convert it into something with .mov wrapped with ffmpeg e.g. dnxhd , or uncompressed mov, or quicktime animation codec
