    I took still pictures with my JVC GR-D290 video camera in 1024 x 768/ fine mode stored on a 16 MB Multimedia Card.
    Several of my progs (Ulead VideoStudio, Pinnacle, Adobe Photoshop, Dell Picture Studio, Paint, PhotoDeluxe etc) capturing the pics in any format (jpg, tiff, bmp etc) reduce the pictures to 320 x 240 size with strong quality degradation.

    What can I do to keep the original recorded quality after capture?

    Get a $10 USB card reader and copy the pictures off the card.
