I was just using avs2dvd to convert a .m2ts file which failed and put out a batchmux log stating: Multiplex operation failed, probably caused by excessive bitratebitrate... it used Quenc.. I have installed basic settings in avs2dvd minus changing the format to ntsc. Should I select a different program like Hcenc 2 pass because they have lower bitrates... any help would be greatly appreciated

excellent thank you...Hcenc was the first thing I tried after my posts and it worked. Its hard bein new at this sometimes.. love the program, though I need to understand it more. I have a question about the VBR settings.. I noticed that while quenc was attempting my first try that there is a vbr toggle box... I couldn't find much info on it (concerning avs2dvd) but would that have helped me..? I guess I don't understand the term VBR yet but I was watching the input through vlc of the original files and was noticing that the rate was constantly shifting in kb/s terms and significantly... is this a demonstration of VBR? and if so does the quenc vbr setting do what hcenc is doing with its vbr? The only difference I see is the 2 pass part but then again I have no idea what I'm doing really
-
VBR means Variable Bit Rate and it is a common way to encode video and audio streams. HCenc is best performer in VBR encoding while QuEnc is a honest CBR (Constant Bit Rate) encoder. QuEnc has a VBR routine as well, but it is not as advanced as HCenc.

You can find more info reading the AVStoDVD Help (section 'How to use it'/'Preference Window'/'Encoding').
