I am capturing video from DirecTV with a Hauppauge HD-PVR. I can convert the file to a MPEG2 with Dolby 5:1 surround AC3 audio.
With this file I just learned that Pinnacle Studio 14 cannot bring in 5.1 audio, it can generate it but not import it.(crap!)
Is there a reasonably priced editor out there that will do this? I'm just looking to do some cutting, fade in/out, and maybe some simple transitions.
Thanks!

Maybe Vegas Movie Studio would be something to try.
