MP4 and virtualdub?

Guys any idea what I need to download to be able to open MP4 in virtualdub? I am using 1.9.8, and all I get is a black screen when I am open it. I have no problem playing files in GOM, etc. Thanks.

Quicktime Alternative and the Quicktime plugin for Virtualdub.

Since you are getting a black screen and no error message, are you using the broken MP4 plugin?

If you have Quictime Alternative and the QT plugin, you might try...

)pen file, select "Ask for extended options after this dialog"
Then, in import options change video decoder mode to ICM Decomp (for H.264/AVC video).
You can save this change - Save to Quicktime.ini.
