  1. Hi guys
I've just got a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 (also Z3). It records HD video to MTS format. Videolan and media plays them ok, but I need to convert them to TS or M2TS to be able to edit them. TSMuxr won't do it, and I don't want to re-ecode them, just change the wrapper. Does anyone know how I can do it?

    Many thanks!

  2. What editing software are you using?

    Tsmuxer works fine for re-wrapping

This is AVCHD Lite, and there are special considerations with frame repeat flags. Do a search, this topic has been addressed in several threads.

  5. Maybe you have errors in your stream? Try running it through tsdoctor

You could also try renaming the extension

  6. TSDoctor says no pids found, but the videos all seem fine. They playback fine, and have uploaded to to YouTube fine.

  7. Changing the ext to M2TS seems to do the trick. I can then cut with TS-Cutter and save as TS or M2TS. Too simple to think of doing, that one! lol

    Cheers!

I have the same camera (the ZS3 version), and I had been using TsMuxeR to demux the MTS file into an H.264 stream and an AC3 stream, then using MKVMerge (a component of mkvtoolnix) to mux the streams into an MKV file. I've just discovered, however, that the latest version of Avidemux (2.5.2) is able to open the .mts files and either remux or convert the audio and video streams into several different formats. You must manually set the framerate to 30fps (which is the true output of the CCD on the TZ7/ZS3).
