Ok I have all three systems - the ps3, 360, and the Wii.
However I did not have a 360 or ps3 on their respective launch windows (I did however buy a Wii during its first month out).
One thing I don't know is if Xbox "Achievements" were started on the consoles launch or if they were phased in later. I know the 360 had quite a bit of a headstart over the ps3. However I don't know which system was first with their respective award system.
The thing I like about them is it gives you a sense of accomplishment even if you never finish a game. You can say "I didn't finish the game but I have x number of achievements or points".
So did both systems have their award systems at launch or were they phased in later?

nah, PS3 didn't have Trophies from the get go. They did it in response to the achievements on 360.
I don't care about either and cannot comprehend why so many folks get obsessed with them... Who cares if you're better at wasting time than they are?
By the way yoda, I may have some free time this weekend to waste time shooting you in the face repeatedly (depending on whether we're just cake tasting or if we have to see the florist too)!"To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

hehe, the ol' lady might shoot you in the face too... I believe with the split screen mode we can both play online at the same time in Resistance.
