  1. I've used MKVMerge to mux my files for a while now, and I've recently installed updated it to 4.2.0, now my problem is that whenever I try muxing an .mkv file with subs, the program won't mux it, whereas previous versions worked perfectly. Anyone having an issue with the latest version of MKVMerge or knows a fix that can help me with this issue? Thanks!

  3. ...or make sure to set 'no header (or any) compression' in mkvmerge 4.x. If you do that, multiAVCHD may still warn you but you can ignore the warning (provided the mkv is saved without header/stream compression) and process your mkv file.

The last version of MKVMerge to not auto select Compressed headers for you is Ver. 4.0. One of my Media devices accepts compressed and one doesn't so I just use 4.0. Also, it's been a long time since I noticed any improvements in mmg. They keep coming out with new versions but some problems with the program have just never been fixed.

    I don't understand it.

  5. Free tools don't have dead lines for bug fixes or improvements and changes, do they.

    How right you are.

What I don't understand about MKV Merge is that they are constantly sending out new revisions, yet it has known problems that go back for 10 versions. This isn't just a stand alone program. It is a program used as a back end by so many other programmers. So when they do something stupid like making compression the default, they make problems for other programed as well.

I remember that the gui that came with mkvTool nix was updated 3 or 4 times last year and none of the updates would even start.

The auto compression could have been setup in the program with a preference box...but it wasn't. So if you use the new versions enough times, sooner or later, you will forget about checking no compression. And after 45-60 min of computer time, you end up having to re-do the whole process.

Your programing is free. Your always here and your always helpful. So, free doesn't always have to mean problems.
