Hi. I've an Akai ADV 1120 DVD player. I know the code to enable all regions, but does anyone have the code to suppress the encrypted signal when plugging in to a VCR player?

I've lost my Sharp S2144X TV remote control and cannot get my TV into AV mode to accept either SVGA or RCA Video from my DVD player, so I have to go thru my VCR and RF lead to watch my DVDs, but I'm getting this awful colour cycling effect. I'm told its because of the encrypted signal to stop a VCR records a DVD onto VHS. I don't want to copy my DVDs onto VHS tape (geeze, is that ever a step backwards!), I just want to be able to watch my DVD movies.

If anyone can help I'd love to hear from you. I've tried to contact Sharp her ein Australia but their tech dept says I need the remote to get my TV into AV mode (geze, how dumb is that!!).
