I just reformatted my PC and now MPC (newest version) keeps showing subtitles which aren't even the ones that come with the DVD. I can't in any way turn them off. I then downloaded ffdshow and screwed around with all subtitle options I could find and still the same. It doesn't do it with VLC player but I have my TV as the main monitor and my PC monitor cloned. I've never had this problem before with the same physical settings.

Sounds very strange that it shows subtitles that aren't on the dvd.
But while playing the dvd check under Play->Subtitles and also Navigate->Subtitle and also Under Play->Filters->splitter or something and see if you can disable subtitles.
You can also try Media Player Classic Home Cinema. -
I tried everything you said and still no. So what heck? I'd really like to figure this out so any more help would be seriously appreciated.
Thanks
