What do you currently have connected to your television that you use to watch video other than broadcast channels like NBC, ABC, CNN etc etc?

We have an regular DVD player. I have been burning movies for awhile using my husband's PC. But now I'm trying to do the same thing using my Mac. So I know the DVD player can read and play DVD+Rs and DVD+RWs. I just don't know what format to save the file as.

  4. <----------Look to the left for your DVD player to see what it plays. If it has a USB or SD port then it might play AVCHD or DivX

  5. Hi, welcome to the forums.

I'm no MAC expert, but in general what you want to do is author a DVD.

If I recall correctly iMovie should be able to convert most avi files and create/author a basic ready to use DVD from there.

You might also want to check out he 'Tools' section on the left of the screen and see if there is anything like DVD Flick or ConvertX for the MAC.

    Depending on the mac's os

    1: Burn
    2: videomonkey

3: Interesting, leowa free mac video converter ... free and pro editions and separate intel / ppc downloads ... guide here

    4: Avidemux for conversion, ect

5: Mactheripper 2.66 here...burn to dvd feature may be handy

As for the home player, read the manual as it should provide specifics about avi, if supported ... common is xvid + mp3
