Lacie Lacinema Classic HD 2TB---> It doesn't play any video (any format)

Hello All,
I purchased (I hope I don't have to say unfortenately) a Lacie Lacinema Classic 2TB yesterday.
While trying the set it up I did have some trouble with the NTSC switch from PAL and with the composite cables vs. HDMI, which actually worked(!) I managed to change to NTSC. I thought that was the bottleneck.
However, the system won't play any movie with any sort of format (AVI, MKV,...) whatsoevr. It reads the directory and I can see the files. But when selecting the movie to play, it goes on that "turning blue flower" type of processing icon and stays there and nothing plays.
I am guessing this is a format or player issue? Because if it can't play any file, then there is something missing, right?
Anyone, with similar experience here.

Tried the test videos and exactly the same issue.Something else is going on,I'll try to reload the firmware.

I purchased the Lacinema and it plays a lot of types, but not what I need it to play....the AVI files that are put out by the Canopus's ADVC110, do they have a special codec. Is there any way to add a codec to play them in the Lacinema, I would hate to have to convert all those files, the reason I got the Lacinema was to play those AVI files, although they are kind of huge. Does anyone know a similar 2 TB hard drive media player like the Argusy (which isn't being made anymore) that I can use we these ADC110 video files.

Consumers can't add codecs willy-nilly to media players. Actually your problem is most likely an issue that can be solved with a simple fix (it is a packed bit stream issue) or re-encoding. It's probably not really a codec issue but an encoding option issue. Install MediaInfo and use it to get information about one of your Canopus files and post it here. We can probably tell from looking at that what your likely problem is.

Never mind. fuzzblaster - Your other thread (you may get slapped down for cross posting) has a reply that states that you have DV AVI, so there's no need to post MediaInfo data here about your videos. Yeah, that's never going to be supported by a standalone player.
