Ok, this has probably been covered a few times.... I currently have a minidv camcorder that is going, and need to update to an HD model (looking at cannon HF20, like the quality of my old Elura70). I am wondering if I can download the HD movies into adobe premier7 and edit them as I currently do? I would like to keep a copy of the higher quality format on my hard drive until I get a blue ray burner/player and either burn a lower quality copy to a regular dvd or watch off of the camera for now. Wondering if that would work? I am not very technically savvy. Thanks for any advice/help.

Nope, you need an editor with avchd support like latest Premiere CS4.
