While going through some videos of a recent amusement park trip, I accidentally deleted a video that was made on the trip. The vid was a pretty important one and I'm trying to get it back. I deleted it using the delete feature on the camera (Canon SD 780 IS). Once I realized what I did, I took the card out of the camera to prevent any accidental overwriting of the data. It wasn't a big deal at first, as I've recovered things off of my SD card before by using DiskDigger or PC Inspector. This time I was very unsuccessful.

I recovered the 1GB file, but it won't play. Whenever I try to play it in VLC or Quicktime, it will display part of a picture taken after the video, but prior to the vid being deleted. The .thm file that is created with the video shows what seems to be the first frame of the video when previewed with Disk Digger. I really, really need to get this video back. I've tried some other file recovery programs (PhotoRec, Zero Assumption, Recover My Photos, etc), but nothing has been working. Most of them, if they do find the vid, don't retrieve all of it and what is retrieved is unplayable.

I got another SD card and took a few pics and video for testing. I deleted the vid just to see if maybe it gets overwritten or something. I was able to recover the test video with PC Inspector.

    Help?

Have you tried AviDemux? It has already helped me plenty of times to recover damaged video files.

Opening it with AviDemux only gives me a green screen. Again, it opens/edits the test video fine, but not this one.
