Hi

A while back I set out to convert a Windows WMV movie file into a AVI, at the time most programs said I did not have a WMV1 codec, well anyway I gave it up... Until today !!

Download GraphEdit from http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding_conv.html

Unpack the program and run it...

1, Click file > Render media file., it would be a good Idea to set the view size to 50% or so, then you can see things better.
2, You can now see a graphical layout, by default the layout will show the codec's you need to decode. Remove the Video render and the Direct sound device from the graph. (click them and press delete)
3, Go to Graph > insert filters from the menu.
4, From DirectShow filters insert "AviMux" and "FileWriter" . FileWriter will ask for a filename, type "test.avi"
5, Also add Divx coder from Video compressors. (Or what ever format you want)
6, Connect audio stream from Windows media audio to avimux. (Click and drag your mouse to draw a line from those tabs)
7, Connect video from Windows media video to divx codec.
8, Divx codec to avimux
9, Avimux to filewriter.

10, Hit play button and wait.

Job done, you now have a DivX compressed video with uncompressed sound.

What you waiting for, go gets some WMV or ASF !!
