  1. I have powerdirector 2.0 trial and Ulead Visualstudio 6.0 full

I have no idea how to use them though

If someone could give me a quick lesson on how to do this I would be very appreciative.

    Thank you

  2. To break a clip into multiple files:
    1. Select a clip from the Library or Timeline.
    2. Click and drag a Trim handle to set the trim
    position.
    3. Click Save Trimmed Video.
    4. You now have two different physical video
files on your hard disk, the original file and a
    trimmed copy.
    Notes:
    • To rename a thumbnail, click the name of the thumbnail
    to modify.
    • Dragging a clip from the Timeline to the Trash only
removes the thumbnail. The original video file is not
    affected.

More info in the manual, available as a PDF file at:

    Illustrated, nice to have.

    Not familiar with PD 2.0
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. I am unfamiliar with the exact to do it in the 2 programs you specified however if I was attempting to remove clips from an mpeg1 file I would use TMGEnc or M-1 or M-2 Edit. TMPG is free and can be found here ->

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm

M-1 or M-2 Edit is not free but has additional functions however TMPG can do the job without a problem...go to file > mpeg tools > merge and cut (the last tab)

You probably knew all this and just wanted to use the programs you specified but hell, I just wanted to make sure
