Hi, need help to change the region settings on my Samsung HT-X810. It's purchased in the US. Tried a number combination for other Samsung players, but that didn't have any effect. Can't find this specific player in the list on this website either. Does anyone know how to change it?

    Thanx!

Many DVD players don't allow you to change the region. You may be out of luck here. This is why I advise people BEFORE they buy something that they need to be sure they can change it or be sure they can take it back for a refund if they can't change it. It's getting more difficult every day to make US players region free. We get a LOT of posts here like yours and almost never do they have a solution. Even Philips, which in the past sold almost no players in the USA that could not be put into multi-region mode, is now selling players that nobody has any idea how to change the region on.

Using a US made DVD player is not a great idea in Europe. Not only are you now potentially stuck with a player that will never be anything but region 1, you probably have electricity issues to deal with. Many US players will only work on US power and if that's the case with this one, you're going to have to use a step-down converter to get the right power to it. If your step down converter can't also change the cycles to US power requirements, you'll get weird results when using it - it may run too fast and it may also shorten its lifespan.

Hi need help with the Samsung HT-X810 sound bar

I purchased my Samsung unit in Dubai in the UAE, When it was demonstrated to me in the store it played both Region 1 and 2 disks. To be sure I tried a couple of Disks I had from the States and they were fine. I have a collection of classic S/F that are all Region 1 although this region is supposed to be 2

I have had it about two months and suddenly it won't play region 1 disks and I get the message telling me there is a region error when they try to load. ?????

Nothing in the manual about changing the region coding. I don't have kids and no one has touched it but me.

Any help out there. Somewhat miffed about it as the multi region ability was the main thing that convinced me to buy it.

Sounds like there is a problem with the player. Since it is only a few months old, it should be under warranty. Contact the manufacturer for service or try to exchange it.

I have a solution for the sound bar problem with the Region 1 disks in a Region 2 area.

Turn on the sound bar with no disk in, TV should display "no disk"
Press enter on the remote followed by 8 4 2 6 9 press enter again

My HT-X810 now plays Region 2 and Region 1 disks again :D

No way to try but the fix may just work the other way too. Region 1 player playing region 2 disks etc

    Hope it helps someone

I had the same problem but managed to fix it:

    Samsung Sound bar/DVD player

Press Enter, then press 84269, then press enter.

Unit should switch off and will only play Region 1 disks.

To reset back to Region 2 hold down the Stop button on the unit for 30 to 40 seconds. The unit should reset back to Region 2 only.
