    Tray stuck. Not opening when Eject button pressed. Makes a cracking sound.

    I have a DVD Player. Model DVP5992/37
    Tray not opening when Eject Button is pressed.
    Makes a crackling sound byr tray won't open,
    Can any body offer a solution?

    Philips head screwdriver; remove cover.

    Have you unplugged it for a few minutes, then holding down the eject button, plug it in? But the 'cracking' sound may be from a stripped drive gear. If it's under warranty, I would replace it. If you can't get your disc out, you will have to do what filmboss80 suggests as I don't think those players have a manual eject hole. But be gentle. Those players break easily.

    EDIT: And pops49, you generally just put something else in your signature, not part of the post. That would appear in every post you make from now on. Look at some other's members signatures or you don't need to use one if you want.
