I'm trying to capture from VHS using the AOpen Xrecorder vx2000 box. I have it connected to the Video Player with the yellow video cable and the red and white audio cables. The video is fine but there is no audio either in Capture or Playback. The Xrecorder connects to the PC (AMD Sempron 3600+) through the USB2 socket. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
    Thanks.

If you haven't tried it, plug the VCR audio cables into a amplifier and confirm you are really getting audio out from the VCR. If so, you might be able to use a work around and just use a RCA to 1/8" stereo adapter and plug the audio directly into the sound card of the PC and see if you can get the audio that way.

Or someone here may have experience with the AOpen Xrecorder and give you some better advice.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and got sound which I recorded onto the computer at the same time as recording video through the Xrecorder. The problem is, the audio (for whatever reason) is all over the place sync-wise so I'm hoping to record both through the Xrecorder at the same time. I read a customer review of the Xrecorder that stated owners of AMD systems may have problems with the Xrecorder (https://www.videohelp.com/capturecards/aopen-vx2000s/411), so I'm looking into that possibility at the moment (without much luck!)
    Thanks again.
