firstly, please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed, I simply could not find an answer to it.

In any event I recently bought a DVD with multiple episodes on it and I wanted to convert each epsiode to XVID format to store on my computer. I used RIPIT on the DVD so now it is a DVD media player document format and I have no idea where to go from here (especially now since I can't find the original DVD).

    Any advice?

  2. I use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and rip each episode as a single VOB file. Then AviSynth and VirtualDub to convert to Xvid AVI.

DVD Decrypter is a windows program and I have a Mac (without bootcamp) so it won't do much good. Any other options?

  4. FWIW a "DVD media player document" is just a normal folder containing an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder but has .dvdmedia added to the folder name. Just do a Get Info (cmd-I) on it and remove the extension.

Now you can open the VIDEO_TS folder in Handbrake and convert each title to Xvid in turn. I haven't used the release version for a while but I believe it still allows Xvid as a format and you can queue all the episodes up in one batch with the same settings.
