With the use of USB drives using Fat32 to enable them to be used with the PS3 and the philips 5990 for video, the 2 sorting programs that are avail that I know of... FolderSort v1.1 and DriveSort are extremely useful in keeping the files in chronological order. However, I have noticed that Foldersort on occasion leaves behind it's temporary sorting folder. I hadn't given this much thought. I would just delete it myself. Yesterday, I noticed that some of the folders on that drive no longer showed any sub folders. I reattached the disk to my computer and found that the folders were still there and they played just fine on the computer. However, the Temporary folder sort folder was still there now 60+gb in size and it was full of folders with unrecognizable characters. The folder because of these characters was not easily removable. I tried a couple of methods including booting up in DOS and in safe mode but was still not very successful.

In an effort to reduce my hands on time, I just bulk copied the useful files to another hard disk and reformatted the partition. So I was wondering What would be the standard way to remove this type of folder?

I also thought I would post this so that other users of folder sort might know that if the program leaves behind its temp folder, it could cause problems.

This app works like magic to delete folders and files which normally can't be removed via Windows explorer. Too bad it isn't free but it does have a 30 day fully functional trial.

    Soopafresh,
Thanks for the info. I had used a free program (MoveOnBoot) for other problems and it always did a good job but not with the above problem.

I think the Fat 32 sort programs weren't really designed to sort 500 and up GB drives.
