    Hi
i want a recommendation pls for an app which make's collective conversation from movies in format Divx
to makes them all one at a time taking about 20 movies and convert them from avi to dvdr in separate folders each.
i used so far in WinAVI Video Converter and the job it does is a bit lousy in couple of movies

ConvertXtoDVD is the best of the payware options, and AVStoDVD or DVD Flick are top of the free list.

Note : If these are feature length then only put one movie per single layer disc and a maximum of two per dual layer disc, otherwise quality will suffer.

AVStoDVD is the only one of the three that will batch encode multiple titles to multiple DVD folders.

There is a batch runner for ConvertXtoDVD is you search for it. You have to set up each ConvertXtoDVD project and save it separately. You then use the batch running tool to batch all these projects and run them for you. It works, but make sure you set the output folders to different folders when you create the projects.

Edit : Link for the batch commands for ConvertXtoDVD 3.X can be found here : http://forums.vso-software.fr/convertxtodvd-command-line-remote-control-for-batch-t49.html

ok the ConvertXtoDVD seems to be very good app 10x
    couple of questions:
i didn't exactly understood where to add those bach command lines
the only thing i just want to do is to batch encode multiple titles to multiple DVD folders. can i do it with ConvertXtoDVD? how exactly?
    another question
each movie which takes about 700 mb it makes it automatically 4.7 gb when finish processing.
if i will change the target size to about 2-3 gb it won't spend to lower quality?
    and last question
when im converting. and doing other stuff in the computer with other applications it doesn't disturb ConvertXtoDVD processing right?

You have to set up and save each project in ConvertXtoDVD. Then you have to create a batch file (a text file with the extension .bat) using the commands in the previous post I cited.

ConvertXtoDVD will try to fill the disc if possible, however it may not need too given the generally poor quality of 700 MB Divx movies. However if you force it to use 2 - 3GB it will have no choice but to give you lower quality.

Doing something else won't affect ConvertXtoDVD other than to make it run slower/take longer.

If you find setting up the batch job to complicated then you should look at AVStoDVD, which has batching built-in.

AVStoDVD is very slow and it seems like i can't do other stuff in comp because it takes too much resourses from the comp. i guess that convertxtodvd is the best app so far cause the lip-sync is perfect after i tried winavi video converter and the lip-sync was terrible.

so can i do batch encode multiple titles to separate DVD folders eachin convertxtodvd?
and how exactly, cause i dont really comprehand with batch files
the only thing i know how to do is to create a batch file but what exactly should be in the batch file so will fill what i asked for
if you could tell my the exact commands it will be perfect
and how to save each project in ConvertXtoDVD. after i setted it up

and last thing can i change the conversation priority from normal to high or highest or timecritical what will it matter ? will it make the conversation faster or what?

If you can't follow the post I linked to earlier and can't comprehend batch files then no, you cannot batch ConvertXtoDVD.

AVStoDVD is only slow because your computer is slow, and AVStoDVD needs every ounce of it to get a good quality encode (and it produces much better quality than ConvertXtoDVD much of the time). If you want more speed or to be able to do other things while it runs you need to upgrade, preferably to a quad core system.

This is basically what you need to do :

RUNME.BAT: (Convert multiple saved Projects, close after each conversion)

    "C:\PATH-TO-CONVERTXTODVD\ConvertXtoDvd.exe" C:\Work\project1.xToDVD /auto=true /close
Where runme.bat is a text file, and the "C:\ . . . . | lines are the contents. You have to replace the paths with ones that match your installation of ConvertXtoDVD, and you have to create each project first and save it, and use those names in your batch file. You will need one line in the batch file for each project you wish to run.

thank you very much. finally i made it

you might be right about the quad core system, but im pretty pleased from the convertxtodvd
seems to make quite good job as i tested
and more important that it wont disturb me to do other stuff im comp

and last thing which i already asked - can i change the conversation priority from normal to high or highest or timecritical what will it matter ? will it make the conversation faster or what?
    10x again

Honestly ? No. I have a quad core and shifting priority to higher buys me maybe 1 fps - maybe. On your system all it will do is make it harder to do anything else at the same time, while giving you little to no improvement.
