I downloaded a song file that is identified as a FLV file -- it has an MP3 stereo audio stream but no video stream. The audio plays fine on Media Player Classic, and "Properties" shows it as an MP3 @44,100 Hz and 128 Kbps. I want to extract/demux the MP3 audio, but VirtualDubMod wouldn't even open the AVI file (that I first converted from the FLV file using the program "flvtoavi") because there is no video stream. I then tried AVIDemux which "opened" the file, but warned of no video stream, and would not let me demux the audio. I searched and found several recommendations to use FLV Extract for demuxing FLV files, which I downloaded, but can't figure out how it's used -- is it a plug-in for VDB? And would it even work when there is no video stream?
Please advise how/if I can extract the MP3 audio from this odd file. Thanks.

You should be able to extract the audio with FLVExtract, fire it up and drag and drop the file in the app and choose the audio only...If that won't do, try Super, or the Format Factory...Worst case, you can always, play it and record with Audacity and save as WAV or MP3..

Excellent -- that worked slick as snot! I didn't realize that I had to drag and drop the file into FLV Extract. Thanks for explaining how to do it, couldn't have been any easier.
