Hello i've recently bought while travelling in the US a portable DVD player from Sony (model DVP-FX820).
As i was not aware about regioncodes on my DVD's (labeled with "2" for europe) i'm wondering if and how it is possible
to re-configure the DVP player to allow the playback of movies with regioncode "2"
Any hinst and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

You are probably out of luck, my friend.

1) Many DVD players cannot be made region free at all.
2) It's getting incredibly difficult in the USA and Canada to find any players that can be made region free. It's difficult everywhere now to find such players, but it's especially difficult in the USA and Canada.
3) Sony is Hollywood's bitch, so I doubt that they make any DVD players that can have their region code changed.
4) Even a few years ago when it was easy to find DVD players everywhere that could change regions, it was very very difficult to find specialty players (portables, DVD/VCD combination players, home theater systems, etc.) that could be changed.

Unless someone knows a hack that works, and that is VERY unlikely for the reasons I listed above, your player will very likely always be stuck in region 1.
