Using Windows XP and Nero 9 Express I was always able to burn my avi's straight to a data DVD and put them in my Philips DVP5960 DivX standalone player. The files would automatically play when I hit the play button, which was perfect.

Since I have changed to Vista and Windows 7, doing the exactly the same steps above (avi's burned in Nero Express as a Data DVD) has resulted in me having to navigate to a "video" folder via the remote control then manually click which files I want to watch..

Edit: I should add I had this same problem when I tried to burn a Data DVD using Vista's built in burning method.

I realise it's something to do with the way the files are burned. Can anyone help me get it back to automatically play when I click play?

Maybe they are burnt in multisession mode and the old ones was burned in discatonce(dao).

Or it could be the burning type like iso, udf, mixed iso/udf, etc.

TRY different settings and see if it make any difference.

And I would try use Imgburn, use the data mode and add the avi file and burn.
