  1. My DVD/BD player will play .h264 files if I rename them to .mpg and just burn a data disc, I would like to know if I can create a DVD with selectable data so I can play these with a menu. Many DVDs have this extra content and was hoping I might use this to make a DVD function like a Movie DVD but access the "extra" content as my main content. DVDs have games and things on them now so I thought this would be easy but I can't see how to use the DVD-ROM data from the DVD menu.
I hope this was a clear question. TIA.

DVD players only supports dvd menus so you must author it as a dvd-video if you want menus. But that wont be possible with h264.

Maybe you could make an AVCHD/Blu-ray from the h264 using multiavchd and it might work on your bd player.
