  1. are all blank media created equally?
    i'd like to know which are the best quality CD-Rs
    and DVD-Rs out there, and which ones to stay
    away from . I did a search on this site and found nothing;

  2. Unfortunately, its a case by case basis.

    Experiment with as many brands as you can, and many types as you can.
    To each his own on which media works best

    I personally love the CompUSA discs as well as the OFfice Depot CD-RW's because all the players and computers in my home love them. I've had problems with Verbatims and TDK's and successes with Maxells and diasspointments with HP or sony

    But others might have succeses.
    Again, its your choice.

    Also take into account that a manufacturer who makes good CD-R's today might not be making good CD-R's tommorrow. For eaxmple, TDK and Sony used to make good CD-R's and now both use cheap ones made in Taiwan.

  5. Well, I don't think there's a blank media article on this site, but www.cdmediaworld.com has an informative one--its what the site is all about. Just keep in mind the articles pertaining to cd-r quality are fairly old and not up-tp-date, but a lot of useful info.

  6. I use Sony, which solved the problem for me. I just bought them two days ago. They were made in Japan. There were cheap Sony's made in Tiwan at Staples though.

  7. I havnt had any problems with the "value brand" cdr's, I love em, my wallet loves em(my DVD player too).
    I just picked up a spindle of 50 cdr's at Office Max for $8.99 (on sale) the $7.00 rebate (mail in) brings the total to $1.99 for 50 cdr's. I think the offer is good through the end of the month.
