Hi i was wondering how to get a western digital usb external hard drive to read. My little bay boy dropped it on the floor. When i plug it in a hear a clicking and humming nosie coming from it. Does anyone know if theres a way to access it.

Probably not.
If the clicking is coming from the drive itself, it's probably physically damaged and the only cure is a very expensive data recovery service $$$$.
Or if it has a internal fan, that could be the noise you're hearing, but most of those type of drives don't have fans. If it's under warranty WD might replace it. If it's not, open it up. You don't have much to lose. If any of the wires are broken, it's possible it could be repaired, but I would just remove the drive from the case and try it in a computer. If you still hear the clicking and the humming, it's likely permanently dead. -
Western Digital drives usually come with a very long warranty, they should replace it as long as you don't tell them that you dropped it.
Of course this doesn't solve the problem of retrieving any important data that may be on the drive.
