I want to save webpage but saw the different Save as type and Encoding. What is the difference among the different Save as types and Encodings and how to select the right Save as type and Encoding when saving webpage in the Internet Explorer 7?

I didn't look up those different format choices, so this is just what I think they do, not necessarily correct.

.htm webpage only will give you all the web page info, but not all the formatting.

.htm webpage complete will give you the whole page with formatting and you can click on the links and it will access the net, same as your browser. It will use your browser to open the page.

.mht will give you the webpage and you can click on the links and it will access the net, same as your browser. It will use your browser to open the page, or you can use other programs to open the page.

.text will give you just the text, no graphics.

The .mht seems to be the best choice if you plan to open the file in a browser. But others here likely have a better explanation of them all.

How about the Encoding? Just select the Western Eurpoean (ISO) or there are other better choices?

You'd have to look that up on your own. I just use the default settings for .mht and it works fine. I think it would depend on what you wanted to do with the webpage after you saved it.

BTW, In IE, you can also go to 'View>Source' and see the html code that created the page you are viewing.
