I have a Pioneer DV-440 (great player btw) and my dad was suckered into buying some cheap dvds, but we found out they were cheap because they were PAL (we live in North America). Is there a way to hack the DV-440 so that it plays PAL discs instead of NTSC? CAN a dvd player play BOTH NTSC and PAL? Thanks.

I can't vouch if it will work but this looks like what you need:
