(three questions marked by •••)
I have a G4 AGP Macintosh tower (accelerated to 1.5GHz from the original 400mHz) attached to an Emprex LM2202 flat panel LCD with DVI output from the original Rage128Pro AGP card with 16 MB VRAM by ATI. This only gets the flat panel to 1024 x 768 so it's not clear.
I need to get to 1680 x 1050 as per their website: http://www.emprex.com/02_products_02.php?id=243
••• How can I get to 1680 x 1050 resolution ? Is the built-in DVI output incapable of supporting the native resolution ?
I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11 with 1.5GB of RAM. Yes, I have newer Macs but I enjoy a few OS9 programs on this G4 tower.
The VGA output of the G4 does get the Emprex to 1440 x 900 which is barely acceptable.
••• Why doesn't the VGA get to 1680 x 1050 ?
••• If the only answer is a PCI video card which is the least expensive and still available, and from where can it be purchased ?
(I've also tried a Samsung 226BW monitor using DVI to this G4, and it cannot get to the native resolution either)
Thank you !!!
